Aniline" leather is an Italian full grain cowhide that is dyed in a full bath to achieve a rich color and glossy finish. The aniline leather used at M0851 is sourced from a highly qualified Italian tannery established in 1967, which has a Gold rating for environmental performance.

The leather is immersed in a bath of aniline, a transparent, non-toxic, oily, water-based liquid obtained from a synthesis of different resins, for complete penetration of the dye and to obtain a rich colouring while preserving the grain of the leather with its natural marks. The glossy finish is obtained by ironing the leather and then applying a transparent wax.
